A Question of Scale
When I moved to California, I had a hell of a time trying to guess the distance between any two points (say, Santa Clarita and Burbank) on a map. At first glance, I assumed Burbank might be a good hour away at least. Nope. Only 15-20 minutes. In fact, pretty much all of Los Angeles is within 30 minutes of home. Santa Monica is only 40. Why do I suck at reading a CA map? Up above is central...

Oh.
I’ll be damned. Police are investigating the Lost iPhone. Ian Betteridge wrote a good summary of the legal implications. I’m getting off track here… Look, Facebook, the fact is I don’t need you in my life...

Gizmodo's New Phone
So Gizmodo got their hands on the next generation iPhone by buying it off a guy who found it in a bar. Putting aside Gizmodo’s dubious claims that taking someone’s lost property, pulling it apart piece by piece and posting about it is a-ok, was it worth it? As juicy of a story as it is, This was a mighty big “fuck you” to Apple and I can’t imagine there won’t...
